Fill in the Blank Friday

TGIF! I'm linking up with Lauren for:

1.  The best surprise ever would be,   right now? a surprise date. Hubby and I haven't been on a real date in awhile    .

2.      My wedding day   is my most favorite memory .

3.  The hardest, but most worthwhile thing I've ever done was     losing 45 lbs before my wedding lol and also graduating college .

4.  The best part of my day is   when I get off work and get to spend the evening with my husband  .

5. Something I like that most people don't is       french fries dipped in a Wendy's frosty--love the salty-sweet combo .

6. Something I am willing to fight for is     my husband, my faith in God, and my family  .

7.  Something you might not know about me is   that I took years of piano, flute and signing lessons  .

Runners World is hosting another running streak! It's the Summer Running Streak and it starts on Memorial Day and ends on Independence Day. The goal is to run at least one mile a day. That is 38 consecutive days of running!

I've never done a running streak before, but I really think I'm going to try this...it may help me get out of my running funk...

The plan for tonight is pizza, movie, and relaxing with the hubby! I hope you all enjoy your 3 day weekend!!

Thursday Randoms

It's almost Friday, and my 3 day weekend is in sight!! This week has flown by so far!

Here are some randoms for your Thursday:

  • Running. I'm in a slump. I'm feeling very unmotivated. I have barely run since my 10k race {end of April}. I haven't run outside since the end of April. I was tired of running the same route. Some things have come up and interfered with my weekend runs {vacation, family in town, staying out too late for a friends graduation party, etc.}. I'm not thinking about it during the day, which I used to do. But I think part of it was that I just needed a break.  I'm hoping I haven't lost my passion for it. I still have goals. I still want to complete a half marathon. I would like to run one before the end of the year. I have my eye on one at the end of October. I need to get my rear end in gear if I'm going to run this October half. I need to seriously start training the beginning of June. I still have a 5k race this Saturday, but I'm feeling very unprepared. I'm going to pick up my packet tonight and try to mentally prepare for this race. If you have any motivation, please send it my way! I'm just going to put one foot in front of the other and keep running.

  • I ordered Skinny Rules on Amazon the other day and it should arrive tomorrow or Friday. I love Bob Harper and wanted something to read during my lunch breaks. I'm going to follow his rules and see if they make a difference in my weight/how I feel. I would like to lose about 10 lbs and tone up. I need to be really strict and committed so I will be prepared when we go to the beach in July!

  • I am so ready for a haircut! My hair is long, and it takes forever to dry and just looks frizzy most of the time. I am really tempted to chop it off! Here is how my hair looks now:

Here are hairstyles I'm thinking of:

I have to wait a little while, because my hairstylist is probably going to give birth any day now, and I'm picky about who cuts my hair. I've been going to this girl for 4+ years, and only go to her lol.

  • Today is our 11 month wedding anniversary! I can't believe we are a month away from 1 year! I'm excited for our 1 year anniversary and I'm already planning ideas on how to celebrate! :)

  • Tonight we are attending a wedding. Two of our friends from high school are getting married! I'm excited to watch them say "I do"! I love weddings :).

That's all I have for today! Have a great Friday-eve!

Bedroom Makeover {Part One}

Happy Wednesday! I can't believe the middle of the week is already here! I'm not complaining though ;).

I haven't posted too much about our apartment or decor on this blog. Mostly because we are living in a basement apartment that we rent, and we don't have a lot of room. It's a 3 room apartment with a bathroom and 1 closet!! The walls in the living room are brick, which is hard to hang things from and the bedroom walls are like a side board material. Again, not easy to hang things from. I have to keep myself from picking up decor when I'm out shopping because we don't have the space, and I will probably redecorate everything once we get into a house. I love our little apartment and it has become home. It isn't a perfect place, but it is cheap and does the job.

I made the mistake of not registering for bedding when I was engaged--engaged girls or girls planning on being engaged soon: PLEASE register for bedding!! I just decided to use the bedding I had from my house instead of registering for it. Stupid mistake!! Because now I'm buying everything that would've been free lol!

I decided to get new bedding for a few reasons. First, my husband is in construction and is always dirty. Second, our bedspread is white and looks dingy even after washing. And lastly, I'm just tired of it!!

After browsing around online I found the perfect bedspread! I bought Pottery Barn's Sienna Paisley Duvet. I love all of the colors, and it goes well with the bathroom colors we already have. They only had 1 Euro Sham in the store and I couldn't get a second one until June, so I decided to buy a different Euro Sham. Now I'm not a fan, so in June I'll take it back and get the Euro Sham that matches when it is in stock. I'm also planning on making a trip to Ikea to pick up a comforter, new pillows, sheets, and accessories. It will be so much cheaper at Ikea than Pottery Barn.

It may be a little while before the bedroom is complete and put together, but here is the before:

I'm also working on an anniversary gift surprise for the bedroom. I've been scouring Etsy looking for the perfect paper gift (yes, I decided to stick with tradition!). I'll reveal after our anniversary!

Stay tuned for Part Two!

Wedding Outfit

Some of you asked about the dress in yesterday's weekend recap post.
Here is the dress I wore to the wedding this weekend:

Jessica Simpson dress {last year}; Charlotte Russe shoes {a few years ago}

I also wore it to our rehearsal dinner last year!

Weekend Recap {May 17-20}

It was really hard to get up early and go to work after the mini vacation I had this weekend! This weekend was a blast and I wish it would've lasted longer!

Thursday night, the hubs and I drove down to Charleston. We made it there a bit before 10pm. We met my parents and they showed us where we were staying. Then we hit up the fitness center. I needed to get my workout on since I sat all day at work and drove almost 4 hours there.

Friday we slept in, rode bikes, went to the fitness center, watched some tv, enjoyed some beach time, saw Loggerhead turtles being released into the ocean {so cool!}, etc.

Saturday was more of the same: bike riding, fitness center, tv time, beach, and then we attended a friends wedding that was about an hour away.

I grew up with the bride and our families go way back. Her sister was a bridesmaid in my wedding. It was so great to see them finally get married {after 7 years together!} and the wedding was absolutely gorgeous!! I'll let the pictures do the talking ;).

Isn't she a stunning bride!!?

I LOVED the bridesmaid dresses!!

Sunday was our last day at the resort. We packed up, checked out, and grabbed some lunch before leaving. We said goodbye to my family and then the hubs and I headed on our way back home. We grabbed some Starbucks for the road. We made it home a little before 4pm on Sunday, unpacked and chilled for a while before heading over to the in-laws. It was my father-in-law's 50th birthday and my sister-in-law's 20th birthday! They had 2 family friends over for dinner. We enjoyed some really good cake and then headed to the grocery store to stock up for the week since we had been gone all weekend.

It was a fabulous weekend and I can't wait to go back to the beach in July!!

What I'm Loving Wednesday

Happy Wednesday! It has been awhile since I linked up with Jamie for WILW, so here we go!

I'm loving that we leave for the beach tomorrow after work!! We are staying until Sunday, and I am very glad to be getting away for a few days!!

I'm loving that one of our good family friends is getting married on Saturday (the main reason we are going to the beach--she is getting married in Charleston, SC)!

I'm loving these Kashi cookies I picked up at the store this week.

Chocolate and good for you?? Yes, please!

Weekend Recap {May 11-13}

This weekend was great! Spent a lot of time with family and friends :).

Friday I left work an hour early to head to my friend's college graduation. I am so proud of her!! She graduated with a Bachelor's in Business Administration/Management and a Bachelor's in Business Administration/Marketing.

Getting her degree!

After the graduation, her boyfriend threw a surprise party for her. She had so many people there to congratulate her! After the graduation party, Doug and I headed to her house and enjoyed some time with friends until the wee hours of the morning.

Graduation Party
I slept over at her house and went to a yard sale with her on Saturday morning. She just moved into her house and her and her roommates needed a kitchen table and bar stools. We ended up finding a table and chairs that need some refurbishing for $45 and 4 bar stools for $30!! The rest of Saturday was spent relaxing, shopping, and catching up on some TV shows. We picked up our new bedspread, Pottery Barn's Sienna Paisley, which I love!

Sunday morning we went to church and then went to lunch at my mom's for Mother's Day. Afterwards we stopped by the in-law's to see them and also enjoyed the last day of Starbuck's happy hour. Now we are getting ready for the week and catching up on Once Upon a Time.

Flowers from Trader Joe's for our mom's :)

I hope everyone had a great weekend and a Happy Mother's Day!!
